ALIGNXY

Align with different x and y factors. Two point sets are needed.

Standard ALIGN can be described as a combination of moving, rotating and scaling. ALIGNXY differs, it does do moving and scaling but it does not rotate anything. When scaling it uses different x and y scale factors. These factors are calculated in a way that source and destination points coincide. One might call this command a combination of move and scale with different factors. Z-scale factor is ignored.

Command output:

Transformed objects are now an unnamed group. Scale x: *.***, scale y: *.***.

The internals are comparable to doing this manually, by making a block, changing the x and y factors and exploding the block. As a consequence, entity types are changed. For example, a circle becomes an ellipse and a polyline becomes arcs and lines. For your convenience, an unnamed group is created to keep the objects together. With PICKSTYLE given value 1, you can select the group, with value 0 you can select the entities itself. Alternatively you can UNGROUP the group.

See also 3TLIN for an example of how this command is used to position a GPS track of a ship on a map from http://www.openstreetmap.org (Biesbosch, The Netherlands).
